Fall 2020: The Big Whisky Issue
Whisky has never been bigger, and the Fall 2020 issue of Whisky Advocate serves up a huge helping of it. Think big flavor, like barrel-proof bourbon and massively peated scotch. Of course, there are also big prices, and we look at the most expensive bottles of all time—including some that you can purchase by the glass (though you'll still need to be a big spender).
In Kentucky, Scotland, Canada, and beyond, a few distilleries churn out whisky on a massive scale, filling millions of barrels a year. These industrial-scale plants make the majority of the world's whisky, and they do it very well. Few outsiders get a glimpse into this world, but we'll take you right inside in our feature on big production.
You can't talk about big whisky without looking at big scores, and we break down some of the highest-scoring bottles ever reviewed in Whisky Advocate. There are even some high scorers in the issue's Buying Guide, which has over 130 new reviews. And the issue has much more, from cocktails to food pairings, to enjoy.
