One of the best-known scotch cocktails is the Rob Roy, made with blended scotch, sweet vermouth, and bitters. This variation, named for the famous Scottish poet whose birthday is a national holiday in Scotland, uses Benedictine liqueur to add a warming, holiday spiciness to the drink.
