Bib & Tucker 6 year old Small Batch (No. 22), 46%

Fresh herbs greet the nose, followed by notes of marmalade, birthday cake, roasted peanuts, and musty antique shop. Well-tempered sweetness on the palate—a basketful of fresh blueberries, fresh peaches and golden raisins—with lemon iced tea, root beer, sugared espresso, and generous spice. A rich finish offers coffee ice cream, dark chocolate, allspice, French toast, and sweet banana. A superbly structured, complex whiskey that makes for very easy sipping.

Bib & Tucker 6 year old Small Batch (No. 24), 46%

This Tennessee bourbon’s packaging has an old-school look and name (referring to dressing up, perhaps in your Sunday best), but in reality it’s rather new, first brought to market in 2014. Despite its lack of pedigree, at 6 years old this is lip-smacking whiskey, with a color of caramel, and an alluring aroma of sweet baking spices. There are bold, bracing tannins of cigar box and menthol that balance out the heavy sweetness of orange jam and long-stewed fruit. Intense, tasty, no-nonsense bourbon. Number 14 in the 2021 Top 20

Bib & Tucker 10 year old Small Batch (No. 2), 46%

Gracefully layered maturity, with a creamy palate melding savory and sweet. Creamed buttered corn, peanut brittle, and vanilla-almond cream veer into dried herbs, mint leaves, old leather, and eucalyptus. Water brings out red fruit notes of raspberry and cherry, grape juice, cinnamon toast, cider donuts, dark chocolate, and bitter espresso. Peanut notes merge well with caramel and a hint of spice. Almond, drying cocoa, more red fruit, and spice end things with a flourish.

Bib & Tucker 12 year old Single Barrel Small Batch (No. 102258), 49.5%

Honeycomb, vanilla fudge, pancakes with syrup, a hint of coconut, plus new leather and very mature and fragrant oak. On the palate, deep fruit flavors of grape jelly and strawberries, vanilla cream, a sprinkling of coconut, bitter chocolate, and peppery spice. The finish is long, spiced, and filled with chocolate ice cream, chocolate layer cake, cocoa powder, and spiced oak. Full and rich, with pleasant spice on the finish. (9.600 bottles)

Bib & Tucker Bourbon, 46%

Mild and mellow nose of corn and oak, with a bit of warehouse reek, and a light, cleanly earthy note. Smooth and sweet in the mouth, with sweet cornmeal and sunny meadowgrass, a touch of candied cinnamon. A very friendly and easy-going bourbon, not too young, not too old. Sourced whiskey.

Bib and Tucker Small Batch 6 year old, 46%

With its straw color, this looks nothing like a 6 year old, but its aroma and taste justify the age statement. Caramel-covered popcorn, cooked grains, Nutella, honey, and toasted rye bread. No one flavor overpowers another as an assortment of sweet and spice project over a chewy mouthfeel. The medium finish shows decent caramel. This is nice, but doesn’t wow the palate. Sourced whiskey.
