Single malt whisky
Whisky made from 100%
malted barley(or very occasionally other malted grains, such as rye) and produced at a single distillery, typically using
pot stills. In
Scotland and
Ireland, single malt is a regulated term that must conform to certain guidelines.
Japan, India, the
United States, and many other countries are increasingly producing single malt whisky.
