Explore Bottled in Bond

This virtual tasting features two examples of bottled in bond whiskey—that is, American whiskey from one distillation season and one distillery, aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years, then bottled at exactly 100 proof. Despite these strict criteria, a vast array of flavor profiles are possible, but quality is always assured. With special guest, Bradford Lawrence, rye whisky specialist at Beam Suntory.

Old Tub Bourbon Bottled in Bond

A name that hearkens back to the 1800s, this unfiltered offering was, until 2020, strictly sold as a special gift shop offering at Jim Beam’s Clermont distillery. Its classic, pre-prohibition profile offers the aroma of oak and vanilla, with a palate of warm caramel and hints of grain.

Old Overholt Rye Bottled in Bond

A recent line extension for the historic brand, this non-chill filtered rye presents a robust aroma of oak and caramel. On the palate, it’s a harmonious blend of oak char and spice, which lingers, with just a hint of light fruit.
